Position Summary

The AVP/VP – HR / Head of HR is responsible for leading and overseeing the strategic direction of the Human Resources function in the company. The Head of HR is a key member of the leadership team and plays a critical role in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the company’s overall business objectives and drive organisational success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that support the company’s long-term goals and objectives.
  • Drive the development of a comprehensive HR plan, including talent acquisition, talent development, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, and diversity and inclusion.

Talent Acquisition and Management:

  • Lead the organisation’s talent acquisition efforts by developing innovative strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of effective recruitment and selection processes, ensuring the organisation has a pipeline of skilled professionals.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify critical skills gaps and implement strategies to address them.
  • Establish effective talent management programs, including succession planning, leadership development, and performance management.

Organisational Development:

  • Drive initiatives to enhance organisational effectiveness, including change management, organisational design, and workforce planning.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development, ensuring employees have access to training and development opportunities.
  • Implement performance management systems that align individual and team goals with the organisation’s strategic objectives.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives to create a positive work environment and enhance employee satisfaction and retention.

Total Rewards and Benefits:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Ensure the organisation’s total rewards package is aligned with market trends and supports the attraction and retention of top talent.
  • Collaborate with finance and legal teams to ensure compliance with compensation and benefits regulations.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Developing and implementing compensation and benefits programs
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and laws
  • Ensuring fair and equitable compensation practices
  • Managing the organisation’s overall budget for compensation and benefits

Employee Relations and Compliance:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote fair and consistent employee relations practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Handling legal issues and disputes in a timely and effective manner
  • Managing all aspects of employee relations, including conflict resolution and grievance handling.

HR Analytics and Technology:

  • Drive the use of HR analytics and technology to enhance HR processes and decision-making.
  • Leverage data insights to identify trends, drive improvements, and measure the effectiveness of HR programs.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement and optimise HR technology solutions

Education and Experience

  • Master ‘s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in HR with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
  • IT software services and product based experience.
  • Extensive experience in HR leadership roles, preferably within the IT services industry
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive HR initiatives.
  • Familiarity with HR analytics and technology platforms.
  • Professional HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) are a plus.
