Position Summary:

The MERN/MEAN Stack Developer supports our engineering team by helping build and improve our web applications. The ideal candidate should be able to learn our existing systems quickly, follow our development practices, and contribute to adding new features as the product grows. This role offers hands-on experience with both frontend and backend work, along with opportunities to learn and grow within the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Software Development

  • Build and maintain web application features using either:
    MERN Stack: MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js.
    MEAN Stack: MongoDB, Express, Angular, Node.js

  • Write clean, simple, and maintainable code following best practices.

  • Work with RESTful APIs, databases, and UI components.

  • Help troubleshoot issues, fix bugs, and improve application performance.

  • Participate in code reviews and learn from team feedback.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Communicate regularly with the team via standups, Slack, Teams, Chat or documentation.

  • Ask for clarity when needed and discuss technical challenges early.

  • Work closely with designers, backend engineers, and QA.

Learning & Ownership

  • Show willingness to learn new frameworks, tools, and cloud services.

  • Take responsibility for assigned tasks and complete them on time.

  • Think through common edge cases and basic problem scenarios.

  • Works on well-defined tasks with guidance and focuses on learning existing systems and coding standards.

Technical Requirements

Mandatory Skills

  • Strong understanding of JavaScript (ES6+) and core programming concepts.

  • Basics of either React (for MERN) or Angular (for MEAN).

  • Understanding of Node.js and Express.js for backend development.

  • Knowledge of MongoDB or MySQL (basic CRUD operations, schemas).

  • Understanding of REST API concepts.

Good to have

  • Basic familiarity with TypeScript (especially for Angular).

  • Exposure to AWS (S3, Lambda, EC2) or willingness to learn cloud basics.

  • Awareness of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or microservices concepts.

  • Experience with build tools (Webpack, Vite, Angular CLI).

  • Knowledge of ESLint, Prettier, or basic testing (Jest, Jasmine/Karma).

Candidate Profile

  • Strong problem-solving mindset and good understanding of fundamentals.

  • Eager to learn, open to feedback, and comfortable asking questions.

  • Able to work independently on small tasks and collaborate with teams.

  • Follows coding standards and maintains a detail-oriented approach.

  • Shows initiative and takes ownership of assigned responsibilities.

Required Skills set and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (B.Tech, MCA, etc.).

  • 1 to 1.5 years of experience through internships, academic projects, or professional work.

  • Hands-on experience building web applications (personal or academic projects accepted).
