Benry Travel is a global travel and language learning app designed to help users communicate effectively in foreign countries. The app offers over 1,000 essential French and Italian travel phrases, complete with native audio, voice recording, and offline capabilities. While the app had a strong concept rooted in real-world travel scenarios, it faced substantial challenges—ranging from managing heavy multimedia content to offering scalable, offline-first learning experiences. The project required a full-cycle greenfield development approach, with a focus on performance, modular content, and user engagement.
Benry Travel, with its vision to transform the language-learning experience for travelers, needed a technology partner to bring the concept to life. Our team stepped in to lead the development from the ground up—handling ideation, architecture, design, and implementation.
We created a robust iOS application built natively in Objective-C and optimized it for real-world travel conditions. Our solution focused on modular learning design, scalable content delivery, and a lightweight app footprint. We introduced On-Demand Resource (ODR) packs to manage media-heavy assets without bloating the initial app size, making the app fast and efficient while keeping it ready for future expansion.
In addition, we crafted an engaging user experience with scenario-based learning, native audio playback controls, voice recording tools, and interactive modules that covered all aspects of language acquisition—speaking, reading, writing, and listening.
